Computationally Eecient Blind Equalization
نویسندگان
چکیده
Adaptive blind equalization has gained widespread use in communication receivers that operate without training signals. In particular, the Constant Modulus Algorithm (CMA) 6, 10] has become a favorite of practitioners due to its LMS-like complexity and desirable robustness properties 4, 5, 14]. This paper presents a signed-error version of CMA (SE-CMA) which is motivated by a further reduction in the computation complexity of the equalizer coeecient update. The authors investigate the performance of SE-CMA and establish connections to previously proposed signed blind algorithms. A novel dithered signed blind algorithm (DSE-CMA) is proposed which overcomes signiicant SE-CMA convergence issues and possesses similar robustness properties to the standard (i.e. unsigned) CMA.

Computationally-Efficient Methods for Blind Decision Feedback Equalization of QAM Signals
This paper investigates computationally-efficient methods for blind decision feedback equalization (DFE) that reduce the complexity and power requirements of blind equalization algorithms while maintaining their steady-state characteristics for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals. These include the power-of-two error (POT), selective coefficient update (SCU), and frequency-domain bloc...
متن کاملRedundant Filterbank Precoders and Equalizers Part II: Blind Channel Estimation, Synchronization, and Direct Equalization
Transmitter redundancy introduced using finite impulse response (FIR) filterbank precoders offers a unifying framework for singleand multiuser transmissions. With minimal rate reduction, FIR filterbank transmitters with trailing zeros allow for perfect (in the absence of noise) equalization of FIR channels with FIR zero-forcing equalizer filterbanks, irrespective of the input color and the chan...

متن کاملCode-Constrained Blind Multiuser Detection of Asynchronous CDMA Signals in Multipath Channels with CMA Equalization
Abslracf-In this paper, we consider the blind multiuser detection problem for asynchronous CDMA systems operating in a multipath environment. Using only the spreading code of the desired user, we first mitigate the effect of multiple access interference (MAI) while employing the constrained optimization. The constant modulus algorithm (CMA) is then applied to reliably recover the transmitted in...

Adaptive blind equalization has gained widespread use in communication systems that operate without training signals. The desire for further reduction in computational complexity has motivated signed-error versions of CMA, which have been...
